Heuer Monaco Chronograph "Steve McQueen" Ref. 1133B – Icon of Motorsport
The Heuer Monaco Chronograph Ref. 1133B "Steve McQueen" is one of the most legendary wristwatches in watchmaking history. With its distinctive square case, blue dial, and close connection to motorsport, it gained worldwide fame after being worn by Steve McQueen in the cult film Le Mans. Today, the reference 1133B is among the most sought-after vintage Chronographs and a highlight of any sophisticated watch collection.
Introduced in 1969, the Monaco was ahead of its time. It was one of the first automatic Chronographs worldwide and also the first waterproof wristwatch with a square case. The distinctive stainless steel case measuring approximately 39 x 39 mm, the characteristic blue dial with white subdials, and the crown positioned on the left give the watch its unmistakable appearance.
Inside, depending on the production series, works the legendary Chronomatic Caliber 11 or Caliber 12, one of the first automatic Chronograph movements in watchmaking history. The combination of historic design, technical innovation, and its close connection to motorsport makes the Ref. 1133B one of the most significant vintage watches of the 20th century.
