The Submariner was launched in 1953 and was the first diving watch with a water resistance of 100 meters. With this outstanding diving watch, Rolex achieved the second major breakthrough in terms of water resistance, after the world’s first waterproof Oyster watch was launched in 1926. In the history of watchmaking, the Submariner marked a historic turning point and became an absolute reference among diving watches. Today, the Submariner is water-resistant to a depth of 300 meters
