The Reference 116610LV, reverently called “Hulk” by collectors worldwide, is an absolute phenomenon in watch history. When it was introduced in 2010, it initially divided opinions because it broke radically with the traditionally black look of the Submariner. Today, it is considered one of the most sought-after safe queen and collector’s watches ever. This example from 2017 comes from the perfect production era of the six-figure 40mm generation.

The green sunburst dial: The absolute highlight of the “Hulk” is its dial. Unlike the flat color of the predecessor model (the five-figure “Kermit”), this watch features a metallic green dial with a fascinating sunburst finish. Depending on the light, the color spectacularly shifts from a bright emerald green in direct sunlight to an almost mystical, deep Dark Green in the shade.

The Cerachrom bezel: Matching the dial, the unidirectional rotating diver’s bezel is equipped with an insert made of green Cerachrom ceramic. The recessed numerals and graduations are coated with a fine platinum layer using a patented PVD process, ensuring lasting shine.

The “Maxi Case” & dial: The 40mm Oystersteel case features the distinctive, broad lugs and the massive crown guard of this generation. Together with the larger indices and broader hands of the “Maxi Dial,” the case gives the watch enormous presence and robustness on the wrist.

The legendary Caliber 3135: Inside works the extremely reliable and decades-proven manufacture caliber 3135 with automatic date display (including the characteristic Cyclops lens at 3 o’clock). Equipped with the blue Parachrom hairspring, it is resistant to shocks and magnetic fields.

Oyster bracelet with Glidelock: The fully matte Oyster bracelet is equipped with the robust Oysterlock safety folding clasp. The integrated Glidelock system is a mechanical masterpiece in itself: it allows fine adjustment of the bracelet length in 2mm increments up to a total of 20mm – all without tools.
