Description
Jacob & Co. Five Time Zone – Steel with Mother of Pearl Dial
Jacob & Co. was founded in 1986 in New York by Jacob Arabo, who became known by the nickname "Jacob the Jeweler." The company started as a jeweler and expanded its business into watchmaking in the early 2000s. The Five Time Zone was the model that made Jacob & Co. internationally famous – not least due to its popularity in the music and celebrity scene of the early 2000s – and is still considered the brand's signature model today.
The concept of the watch is distinctive: it displays five time zones simultaneously. A central main dial shows the primary time zone, while four smaller subdials each display another freely selectable time zone. This sets the Five Time Zone apart from classic GMT watches, which usually only show a second time zone, and is designed for international travel.
Case
The case is made of stainless steel and is protected by a Sapphire Crystal. The watch is worn on a leather strap with a Buckle Clasp. This version is designed as a Women's watch.
Dial and Functions
The Mother of Pearl dial features the central main time display as well as the four subdials for the additional time zones. The five time displays are complemented by a date display.
Movement
The Five Time Zone is powered by a quartz movement.
