Introduced as the successor to the legendary 1675/8, this reference marks the transition from a pure tool watch to a luxurious sports watch. The case made of solid Yellow Gold gives the watch enormous presence and warmth. The reference 16758 was the first GMT-Master in Gold equipped with a scratch-resistant Sapphire Crystal, making it significantly more resistant to environmental influences than its predecessors with Acrylic Glass. The bidirectional rotating bezel with a 24-hour scale allows, in combination with the GMT hand, the simultaneous reading of two time zones.
The “Nipple Dial” & The Aesthetics
Especially sought after are examples of this reference with the so-called “Nipple Dial”. These dials are characterized by applied, conical Gold indices filled with luminous material in the center.
