The Rolex Explorer with reference 214270 from 2015 occupies a very special position in the evolution of the legendary tool watch. Introduced in 2010, Rolex enlarged the iconic model for the first time from the historic 36 mm to a modern, imposing 39 mm case size. The 2015 production year represents the sought-after “Mark 1” dial variant of this reference - recognizable by the solid, polished 3, 6, and 9 numerals in White Gold (without luminescent material) and the characteristically slightly shorter hands. It embodies unadulterated purism, outstanding everyday practicality, and the unwavering spirit of the first Everest expeditions.

Smooth, high-polished stainless steel bezel: The fixed, domed bezel stylishly frames the black dial and emphasizes the watch’s timeless, tool-oriented all-round character.

Iconic matte-black dial (“Mark 1” configuration): The deep-black dial features the characteristic applied Arabic numerals 3, 6, and 9 in solid 18-karat White Gold.
