Rolex Daytona (Ref. 116508) – The Icon in Solid Yellow Gold
The Reference 116508 is the classic full gold version of the legendary racing chronograph. It embodies pure luxury and has achieved an unprecedented cult status in recent years through distinctive dial variants.
Case & Material
The 40 mm case as well as the fixed tachymeter bezel are made of solid 18 karat Yellow Gold. The polished surfaces and the distinctive crown guard give the watch an enormous presence. Despite the noble material, the Daytona remains water-resistant up to 100 meters thanks to its screw-down Triplock crown and pushers.
The "John Mayer" Dial & Variants
Although the 116508 is available with various dials, the version with the deep green sunburst dial (often called the “John Mayer”) gained worldwide fame. Other popular variants include:

Caliber 4130
Inside works the proven manufacture caliber 4130. This Automatic chronograph uses a vertical clutch for precise starting of the seconds hand and offers a power reserve of approx. 72 hours. The blue Parachrom hairspring also provides high resistance to magnetic fields and shocks.
Wearing Comfort
The watch is worn on the three-row Oyster bracelet made of Yellow Gold. The Oysterlock safety folding clasp features the practical Easylink system, which allows the bracelet to be extended by approx. 5 mm – a decisive advantage for comfort on warm days.
