Description
Audemars Piguet Jules Audemars
The Symbiosis of Sound and Gravity Defiance
This reference is a tribute to the classical watchmaking art of Le Brassus. The 39 mm case made of 18-carat White Gold maintains remarkable elegance and discretion despite the enormous mechanical complexity inside. The Jules Audemars line provides the perfect round frame for a movement that fascinates both acoustically and visually.
Mechanical Masterpiece: Tourbillon & Repetition
-
The Tourbillon: At the 6 o'clock position, the dial reveals the flying Tourbillon. It compensates for the negative effects of gravity on timekeeping accuracy and simultaneously serves as the visual center of mechanical dynamics.
-
The Minute Repeater: The striking mechanism is activated via a slider on the left side of the case. Two gongs strike the hours, quarter hours, and minutes with a crystal-clear sound. The acoustic tuning of each individual piece is done by hand at Audemars Piguet by specialized master watchmakers.
-
The Dial: Made of solid Silver with fine guilloché, it impresses with blued steel hands and Roman numerals. The symmetry is emphasized by the precise placement of the Tourbillon cage.
The Manufacture Movement: Caliber 2874
The heart is the Caliber 2874 with Manual Wind, an in-house development consisting of over 400 individual parts.
-
Finishing: Every bridge and edge is hand-beveled and polished. The sapphire crystal case back allows observation of the complex interplay of the racks and hammers of the repeater.
-
Data: The movement beats at a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour (3 Hz) and has a power reserve of approximately 48 hours.
-
Exclusivity: Due to the complexity of assembly and acoustic regulation, only very small quantities of this reference were produced, making it one of the rarest AP models of the modern era.
Conclusion: Reference 25858BC is not a watch for everyday use but a mechanical concert for the wrist. It embodies the highest level a watch manufacturer can achieve – the perfect mastery of sound, time, and gravity.
