The Breitling Chronomat Ref. 81950 is one of the most significant Chronographs of the 1980s and marks the successful relaunch of the Breitling brand. Originally developed in collaboration with the Italian aerobatic team Frecce Tricolori, the Chronomat established a distinctive design language that still defines the collection's appearance today. Characteristic riders on the bezel, the iconic Rouleaux bracelet, and the powerful case shape make this reference a sought-after Neo-Vintage classic.
The 39 mm stainless steel case impresses with a balanced presence on the wrist and is complemented by a unidirectional rotating bezel with the typical riders. Depending on the version, the reference features different dial variants, which emphasize the sporty character of the watch with contrasting subdials and a date display at 3 o’clock. Scratch-resistant Sapphire Crystal protects the dial and ensures clear readability.
Inside, the proven Breitling Caliber 13 based on the legendary Valjoux 7750 operates – an automatic Chronograph movement appreciated for its robustness, reliability, and ease of maintenance. It offers a power reserve of approximately 42 hours and precisely and reliably controls the Chronograph functions as well as the date display.
Particularly sought after is the Chronomat 81950 with the characteristic Rouleaux stainless steel bracelet, which not only offers high wearing comfort but is also considered one of the most distinctive design elements in Breitling’s history to this day.
