Description
A. Lange & Söhne Lange 31 Ref. 130.025F – Year of Manufacture 2010
A. Lange & Söhne was founded in 1845 by Ferdinand Adolph Lange in Glashütte, Saxony, and developed into one of the leading manufacturers of German watchmaking art in the 19th century. After expropriation in the GDR and over four decades of interruption, the company was revived in 1990 by Walter Lange, the founder's great-grandson. The first new collection – including the Lange 1 – was launched in 1994. Since then, A. Lange & Söhne has been regarded as the most important representative of Haute Horlogerie from Germany.
The Lange 31 was introduced in 2007. It is named for its 31-day Power Reserve Indicator – at the time of its launch, the longest power reserve of a serially produced mechanical wristwatch. The model was available in various precious metal versions (White Gold, Rose Gold, Platinum). The Reference 130.025F offered here is the Platinum version; the piece dates from the year 2010.
Technology
To maintain accuracy consistently over an entire month, the Lange 31 operates with a constant force mechanism: an intermediate element supplies the escapement with a constant driving force, regardless of the tension level of the mainspring barrels. This allows the watch to run with the same amplitude over the full 31 days. The high energy that must be stored for such a runtime also explains the characteristic thickness of the model.
Case
The case is made of Platinum and measures 45.9 × 15.9 mm. The Sapphire Crystal protects the dial; the case back offers a view of the manufacture movement. The watch is worn on a leather strap.
Dial and Functions
The silver dial features the typical Lange layout: central hour and minute display, a Small Seconds, a date window, and a prominent Power Reserve Indicator showing the remaining reserve of 31 days. The manual wind movement is wound via the crown.
Condition and Score of delivery
The piece is in like new condition and comes with original box and original papers.
