The Reference 116503 marks a significant milestone in the history of the legendary Daytona line. Introduced in 2016, it replaced the long-standing predecessor (Ref. 116523). In the Rolesor Yellow Gold version – the perfectly balanced combination of high-strength Oystersteel stainless steel and 18-carat Yellow Gold – this watch combines the sporty spirit of motorsport with the unmistakable prestige of a gold watch.

The Bezel Upgrade: The most important update when switching to Reference 116503 concerns the distinctive 18-carat Yellow Gold tachymeter bezel. Rolex modernized the scale design: the numbers were printed bolder compared to the previous model, and instead of dots, small triangles were used as markers. This gives the watch a significantly more modern, sporty, and prominent appearance.

Case & Dial Dynamics: The perfectly proportioned 40-mm case hugs the wrist like hardly any other Chronograph thanks to its flat design and ergonomically curved lugs. In 2016, this model was available with various spectacular dials – particularly sought after are the classic White, the deep Black, or the luxurious champagne dial, each with the characteristically outlined totalizers.

The Legendary Manufacture Caliber 4130: Inside beats a mechanical masterpiece: the Chronograph movement 4130, completely developed by Rolex. It avoids unnecessary complexity, uses a vertical clutch for the absolutely jerk-free start of the chronograph seconds hand, and is equipped with the blue Parachrom hairspring. The power reserve is a sovereign approx. 72 hours.

The Oyster Bracelet: The Daytona is worn on the solid, three-row Oyster bracelet. The high-gloss polished center links in Yellow Gold continue the luxurious contrast to the matte outer links made of stainless steel. The Oysterlock safety clasp prevents accidental opening and features the practical Easylink extension system (5 mm) for hot days.
